THE WEALD RURAL GAMES A sleepy Kent town is about to be awoken.

The Weald’s finest superhero’s will descend on Cranbrook to accept the challenge, and save the Weald from boredom. Feats of incredible strength and cunning. Supported by energy giving fluid and solid-fuel filling stations all with music that’s out of this world. Capes and wearing pants on the outside are optional. Come along, challenge family and friends or look on and laugh. It’s a chance to show us your special powers, whilst having fun being a superhero for a day. Come and rule the Weald!

The Ridge Novices Handicap Hurdles will be held for the first time at the Weald games. 12 Riders and their steeds will be put through a gruelling course of sponsored hurdles over a two furlongs course, the going! It’s going to be tough!

Catchy Egg

  • One crane gets two eggs
  • Longest throw and catch, wins
  • Age groups under 14 – adults and teens, winners get the Weald Rural Trophy
  • Rules : 2 person teams consisting of catchers and tosser’s.
  • Start at 2metres, then 2mtr increments spreading after each successful catch.
  • Drop the egg or break it and your out! Caution flying eggs

EGG ROULETTE

  • Half a dozen Eggs for One Crane
  • Five hard boiled, one raw
  • Smash the egg against your head, before egg timer time
  • Done in pairs, whoever gets the raw egg first, loses.

  • From your feet on the ockey, you reach out with a bottle(wooden skittle) in each hand, the idea is to reach out as far with one bottle
    and without touching the ground return with the other bottle.

BOWLING FOR THE PIG

Whats bowling for the pig?

It’s a game of bowling or skittles, in which in history the prize for the best player is a pig, or joint of pork/ham.

The Weald games is slightly different with only eight skittles in a scrum formation, the winner will be the one who knocks the most skittles with limited balls. Pig prize to the winner.

25-second bucket challenge, to see who could chip the most balls into a bucket in the time limit
